Supporting Deep Eutectic Solvents in Porous Metal Organic Frameworks: Towards

Novel, Effective and Specific Advanced Filters for Heavy Metals Removal from Polluted Water Sources.

INDESMOF Project

INDESMOFs final aim is the developing of new advanced water remediation filters for heavy metals removal. Active components of the filters will be based on the highly porous metal organic framework (MOF) materials loaded with specific targeted deep eutectic solvents (DES). Key issues of the project will deal with the resolution of the local and long-range structure of MOF@DES composites, finding out the heavy metals adsorption mechanism of the active materials, and their integration in biocompatible polymeric supports towards their application and recovery in real water samples.
